Anyone can check any domain without signing up. The tools also show domain age, expiry date and page speed, and include a free SEO audit with 29 checks.

Signed-in users add their own website, and it is checked every day through the official Ahrefs API. They get an email when the number moves and reminders 30 and 7 days before the domain expires. Each domain gets a public page with a DR history graph, and a live badge can be added to a homepage to show the current score and get the site listed in a directory.
