# MacFader

> Trackpad edge controls for brightness, volume and media on Mac

MacFader is a Mac utility that turns the edges and corners of your trackpad into controls. Each edge can adjust volume, brightness, keyboard light, microphone level or seeking through video and music, and the top and bottom edges can also skip tracks. Each of the four corners can run one of fifteen actions, including screen lock, Mission Control, screenshots, play or pause, and your own keyboard shortcuts or key combinations.

You can give any app its own setup. For example, a bottom edge can seek with Spotify's keys while Spotify is in front, or MacFader can be turned off while you play games or work in drawing apps. A brightness mode lets the left edge change only the screen under your pointer when you have more than one display. Switching between your last two apps by sliding is also available.

MacFader is for Mac users with Apple silicon who want quick, hands-off control of sound, picture and playback without reaching for the keyboard. It works with the built-in trackpad and with a Magic Trackpad, and requires macOS 13 or later.
