See a domain's Domain Rating under Ahrefs' new DR4 model next to today's, before it rolls out on December 1. Free, no sign-up. Use it at [DR4 checker](https://productsfarm.com/tools/dr4-checker).

## How it works

1. Enter a domain, or up to 50, one per line. Subdomains are checked on their own, since DR4 rates them separately.
2. We ask Ahrefs for each domain's Domain Rating twice: under today's model and under the DR4 preview.
3. You see both numbers and the change. With several domains, the biggest drops come first, and you can copy them all as CSV.

## Questions

### What is DR4?

Ahrefs' new model for Domain Rating. Ahrefs names two main changes: subdomains get their own rating, and the pool of domains that affects DR is about half the size, around 132 million. Ahrefs says DR4 tracks Google rankings more than 2.5 times better than the current model.

### When does it change?

On December 1, 2026. Until then the DR4 numbers are Ahrefs' preview and can still change.

### Why did my DR drop?

DR4 counts links from a smaller set of sites, so links from sites outside that set count for less or nothing. Sites whose links come mostly from small or new sites drop the most. A subdomain now has its own rating, usually lower than its main domain's.

### How do I raise my DR4?

Earn links from established sites with real readers: well-known directories, publications, podcasts and partners. Links from groups of small sites that mostly link to each other count for little under DR4.

### Is it free?

Yes, and you don't need an account. To keep it free for everyone, each visitor can run a limited number of checks an hour.
