Halo

Halo is a Dynamic Island for macOS 15 or later. It turns the MacBook notch, or the top, left or right edge of any screen without one, into a live area for notifications, music, calls, dictation and files. The island stays hidden until something happens and steps aside in fullscreen video and games.

Notifications from apps such as Slack, Mail and Telegram appear in the island, and a click opens the app. Hold Fn or a chosen shortcut to dictate text into whatever app has the cursor. It also shows now playing music, a file shelf and a focus timer.

For developers using Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode or Gemini CLI, the island shows agent status, usage limits and permission requests that can be allowed, denied or answered without switching windows. It is a one-time $9.99 purchase with no subscription, and no account is required.
