On The Hills

On The Hills is an events discovery website for India's hill towns. It lists gigs, open mics, hikes, workshops, markets, talks and other happenings in towns such as McLeodganj, Dharamkot, Dharamshala and Bir, with more ranges of towns planned. Visitors can browse events by town, by type and by date, such as today, tomorrow or this weekend, and search for events, workshops or towns.

Hosts can list their own events, workshops or experiences by sending a poster over WhatsApp, filling in a listing form or inviting the On The Hills Instagram account as a collaborator on a post. Each listing is reviewed by a person before it goes live. Browsing and listing are free for both visitors and hosts. Where a listing sells tickets through the site, the host sets the price in rupees, and the checkout page shows the full total before payment.

The site is aimed at people who live in or travel to the hill towns and want to find local things to do, as well as at hosts such as musicians, teachers and market organisers who want to reach them. On The Hills describes itself as a guide rather than a venue or organiser.
