Metadata Remover is a browser-based tool that scans JPG, PNG, WebP and PDF files for hidden details such as GPS coordinates, EXIF camera and device data, capture dates, author names and document properties. It turns what it finds into a privacy report that explains why each field may matter, so you can decide what to keep before anything is changed.
You choose a cleanup path, either a preset such as Privacy Clean or Remove Everything, or a custom selection of fields. For images, a Photographer Mode can keep supported exposure settings like aperture, shutter speed, ISO and focal length while removing location, identity and exact dates. The tool then rescans the cleaned copy and shows what was removed or retained. Your original file is not overwritten, and several files can be downloaded together as a ZIP.
The page says analysis, cleanup and verification all happen inside your browser, with no account and no uploads to a server. It is aimed at people who want to strip metadata from personal photos, client images, portfolios, forms, invoices and reports before sharing them. It does not support Word documents or other formats outside JPG, PNG, WebP and PDF.
